Sortis Lazou

Sotiris Lazou (b. 1965, Athens) is an acclaimed designer with a rich background in both interior and industrial design. He honed his skills at Athens TEI and, on scholarship, at Milan's renowned DOMUS ACADEMY (1991), studying under design titans such as Andrea Branzi.

Since 1992, Lazou has specialized in furniture and decorative object design for Greek companies. He's a founding member of the Athens Secretariat of Industrial Design, an active participant in exhibitions, and an esteemed educator at Athens' TEI's and A.K.T.O.

His designs have garnered international acclaim, including the 2008 Good Design Award for his Cosmos table, an honor bestowed by The Chicago Athenaeum and The European Centre for Architecture Art Design and Urban Studies.

Lazou is also a key member of Schemata, a Greek design group established in 2003, known for their philosophical depth and commitment to creating groundbreaking, functional, and beautiful contemporary designs that distinctly move beyond traditional Greek aesthetics.
