Offset Side Table

This sculptural side table is conceived as a study in mass, balance, and deliberate asymmetry. A cubic base anchors the composition, while a cylindrical upper volume rests above, creating a dynamic dialogue between primary geometries. The result is a piece that reads as both furniture and functional sculpture.

Crafted in a deeply textured, bush-hammered black basalt finish, the surface reveals a raw, mineral tactility matte, irregular, and light-absorbing. The finish emphasizes the table’s monolithic presence, evoking quarried stone rather than manufactured furniture. Subtle variations in texture and tone are integral to the design, reinforcing its artisanal and geological character.

Proportioned at a single, elevated height, the table functions as a side table or sculptural pedestal, suitable for placing objects, books, or lighting.
